Russian Premier League side Amkar Perm have unveiled their new coach, Rashid Rakhimov, who makes a return to the club he managed three years ago.
The 44-year-old, who was sacked as Lokomotiv Moscow trainer earlier this year, is expected to straighten up the discipline of the club.
“In this situation an invitation of Rakhimov is the best option for Amkar. Rakhimov knows the players and the abilities of each of them. I have found out during my work with him that he knows how to add discipline into the game, and it is the most important thing we need now,” Valery Chuprakov, Amkar President, told Sport-Express newspaper.
Rakhimov has already been Amkar’s coach, back in 2006 – 2007, and saved them from relegation.
Perm side are struggling to move away from the relegation zone, sitting 13th in the league, just a point clear of the drop.
Amkar fired ex-coach of Bulgarian national team Dimitar Dimitrov during the week, after the team’s departure from the Europa League and a loss to fellow lowly side, Spartak Nalchik.
