Andrey Arshavin has been named Arsenal's best player for a second month in a row, as the Russian striker has been going from strength to strength for the gunners in the English Premier League, arsenal.com reports.
The previously unsung Russian striker secured the vote by a landslide after a stellar run in April.
He’s got 70.4 per cent of fans votes, while Cesc Fabregas placed second with just 9.3 per cent.
Arshavin's finest hour came in the Liverpool match, when he scored a staggering four goals.
He was also on target against Wigan, while notching up assists against Middlesbrough and – most recently – against Portsmouth.
Gunners fan Scott Gammon from Rotherham has won the chance to present Andrey Arshavin with his award before one of Arsenal’s home games this month.
"He has given a fresh look to the Arsenal. With great vision, he can read the game like no other. His finishing and general contribution to the team has been unbelievable seeing that he is only just match fit. I believe he is already a fans' favorite and is a legend in the making. Well done Wenger," he said.
Ex-Chelsea boss linked with Lokomotiv jobEx-Chelsea mentor Avram Grant has become one of the contenders to take the vacant coaching post of Lokomotiv Moscow, Russia’s Sport-Express newspaper reports. |
Shaktar and Werder to clash for UEFA CupShakhtar Donetsk has reached the final of the UEFA Cup for the first time in the club’s history, and will now face Werder Bremen in the decisive match in Istanbul on May 20. |

Carry on voting this way for Arshavin as the Glory Boy and we will lose Fabrigas whos is STILL the backbone of the side and reckoned to be the best mid fielder in the world. It is already probably too late but I hope not. Come on Arsenal supporters, use your sense
