Another coach has lost his job in the Russian Premier League as Saturn Moscow Region has fired German specialist Jürgen Röber, the team’s official website reports.
“The reason for the move is an unsatisfying performance of the team. It’s not clear how the coach wanted to lead the team from a difficult situation it is now in,” Igor Yefimov, Saturn CEO, said.
Saturn, who have yet to earn their first win of the season, sit in the relegation zone after eight games played. Their last two games were a complete disaster as they were thrashed by Rubin 5-0 and Spartak 4-0.
The coach joined the team last summer, and Saturn finished 11th under him with high hopes for the 2009 campaign.
Jürgen Röber started his managing career in 1991. He is famous for coaching German Bundesliga sides Stuttgart, Hertha Berlin, Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund.
The youth team coach Andrey Gordeev will take charge of Saturn till a permanent replacement is found.
