The German media has labeled Bayern Munich’s biggest summer signing Anatoly Tymoschuk and his wife Nadezhda as the “Beckhams from St Pete”.

The former Zenit Saint Petersburg star has brought his French cook, Thai masseur and personal press-secretary to Germany together with him.

The Ukrainian international also has a large collection of expensive icons.

According to reports in the German media, Bayern paid €14 million for the 30-year-old’s transfer. His salary in the club will be around €4.5 million per year, with the contract expiring in 2012.

However, Anatoly Tymoschuk’s and David Beckham’s skills are different. Yes, the Ukrainian can also score from free-kicks and penalties, but this defensive midfielder is first of all known for his fearless tackles and hard work on the pitch.

“I came here to achieve something big. And I’ll give all I have in training and during the games,” Anatoly Tymoschuk said to Bild newspaper.
