Russian sides Rubin Kazan and Anzhi Makhachkala will take on Inter Milan and Liverpool, in the Europa Leagues group stages.
The draw of the competition took place in Monaco, which will host UEFA’s Super Cup match between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid later on Friday.
Rubin will play in Group H together with Italian giants Inter Milan, Serbia’s Partizan Belgrade and Neftci from Azerbaijan.
The Russian Cup winners have already faced Inter in the 2009/10 Champions League season, drawing the home match and losing 2-0 in Milan.
Anzhi, who are making just their second appearance in Europe, were drawn in Group A together with English powerhouse Liverpool, Udinese from Italy’s Serie A and Swiss side Young Boys.
The Europa League’s group stages are set to kick off on September 20.
