UEFA have officially declared that last year's final in Moscow was the best-organized match in the history of the tournament.
In fact, so impressed were the European football oficials with how the Russians did things that from now on, any city winning the right to host a major UEFA event will be sent an instructional video, showing exactly how Moscow and its Luzhniki stadium were prepared for their historic final.
The four-and-a-half-hour film covers issues like hosting two teams from the same country, such as Chelsea and Man United.
"This final was very special because it was the first Champions League final organized in Eastern Europe, the first final with two English teams, which brought huge support… Therefore it was very important to document all these good practices for future organizers," said Mark Timmer, Head of UEFA stadium security.
Manchester United and Barcelona will face each other in this year’s final in Rome on May 27.
