The Brazilian football team Figueirense has discovered an extravagant way to stimulate players who aren’t giving their best during practice: making them wear pink dresses, reports Brazilian website Globoesporte.com.
The first to prove the effectiveness of this novel approach to training was midfielder Jairo.
After donning a pink dress for practice, the number 25 gave one of his best performances for the club in the next match, coach Roberto Fernandes said.
Fernandes stressed that dressing players up like women was the players' idea, not his.
He also said that under the previous coach, the player who performed worst in training was made to wear a tee-shirt bearing the inscription “boaster”.
