In the Russian Premier League defending champions Rubin moved four points clear at the top after they thrashed visiting Krylya Sovetov 4-1.

Rubin 4-1 Krylya Sovetov

After a goalless first half, there was no stopping Rubin in the second.

Christian Noboa broke the deadlock soon after the break. Less than ten minutes later Aleksandr Bukharov got his first goal of the evening.

Krylya did pull one back courtesy of Jan Koller's pinpoint header, but it proved to be their only joy of the night.

Karadeniz made it 3-1 just a minute later, and then Bukharov completed the rout with his second.

Rubin are four points clear at the top with three games to play. Chasing them hard are Spartak Moscow, who have a game in hand and play on Sunday against Rostov.

CSKA 1-0 Terek

There was a winning start for CSKA's new manager Leonid Slutsky, who took over from Juande Ramos earlier this week.

Slutsky’s task was simple – to try and get a CSKA side, that had only picked up four points out of their last 12, winning again.

Meanwhile, midtable Terek, who had also lost their last three games, had nothing to play for.

CSKA's manager didn't have to wait long before his team took the lead. After just four minutes, the visitors failed to deal with a set piece, and Tomas Necid was on hand to score his seventh goal of the season.

CSKA continued to attack as they looked to double their lead. And midway through the half, Alan Dzagoev really should have made it 2-0, but he shot wide, after excellent work by Milos Krasic on the right flank.

Slutsky's side continued struggling to create scoring opportunities, but had to be content with shots from long distance.

They continued to dominate after the interval, and Necid really should have scored his and his team’s second. However, the Czech striker missed two very straightforward opportunities, which would have effectively wrapped up the game for the home side.

On the hour mark, Terek finally managed to test CSKA keeper Igor Akinfeev, the Russian number one did well to stop a strike from Terek’s Georgiev.

With time running out, the team from the Chechen capital pushed on in search of an equalizer, but they were unable to find a way, and CSKA’s goalkeeper held tight to secure all three points.

Saturn 1-0 Khimki

Meanwhile, a second-half goal by Denis Halilovich made the difference in the Moscow region derby as Saturn heaped more misery on the already-relegated Khimki, who are on a 12-game losing streak.

Saturn now sit seventh in the table place, with an outside chance of getting into League Europa.
