Rubin makes Lokomotiv loose their nerve

Rubin Kazan have improved their position in the Russian Premier League after beating Lokomotiv on Match Day 10, with the upset Muscovites receiving two red cards for the referee.

It was the captain, who led the defending champions to victory, scoring the first goal of the game for the Kazan team on 9 minutes. Sergey Semak delivered a superb left-footed volley into the upper corner of Loko’s goals after a hustle in the box, 1-0.
Loko tried to come up with en equalizer in the first half and had a good chance to score on 23 minutes but Razvan Cocis failed to get on the end of Dmitry Sychev’s cross.
Rubin doubled their lead the right after the whistle for the second half. Kurban Berdyev men deprived the visitors of the ball not far from the edge of the box, and Turkish attacker Gökdeniz Karadeniz surprised Muscovite’s shot stopper Marek Chech with a strike into the near corner, 2-0.
And all the Loko’s efforts of coming back into the match were cancelled by two red cards shown to the team’s forwards Jan Durica, who goat his second yellow for scoring after the whistle, and Peter Odemwingie, sent off for truing to injure Rubin keeper Sergey Ryzhikov.
The win allowed the Kazan team climb top of the Russian Premier League, with 21 points. They’ll keep their lead if CSKA Moscow fail to beat Kuban Krasnodar on Sunday.
Spartak Moscow 5-1 Amkar Perm
Spartak needed just ten minutes to one ahead. Brazilian Welliton put the header in after a cross from Vladimir Bystrov.
The Muscovites made it 2-0 in the beginning of the second half, with Welliton’s countryman Alex putting his name on the scoreboard and Bystrov adding another assist to his tally.
And there was a shower of goals in the last ten minutes. Substitute Nikita Bazhenov put the outcome of the match beyond doubt on 80 minutes, 3-0.
Alex scored a beauty, shifting the ball over Amkar’s keeper Sergey Narubin for his second, 4-0.
And then it was Welliton’s turn to score again – it was his 7th goal of the season, which allowed striker to become the leagues best scorer.
The visitors could only settle for a cancellation goal Ivan Starkov was the first on the rebound after a corner to make it 5-1.
Spartak has won four matches out five under their substitute coach Valery Karpin and continue to climb higher in the table.
Terek Grozny 2-0 Khimki Moscow Region
A goal scored in each of the halves let the team from the Chechen Republic triumph over bottoms side Khimki.
Andrey Kobenko opened the score on 9 minutes and Shamil Lakhiyalov settled the final score after the break, allowing their tram to reach 10th place in the table.
Saturn Moscow Region 0-0 Tom Tomsk
Saturn has got a second scoreless draw out of two games under substitute coach Andrey Gordeev.
The teams failed to create a lot in front of goals, but in the end both seemed satisfied with the way things ended.
The Moscow Region team remains in the relegation zone, and Tom is stuck in mid-table.
