Rubin are now one win away from retaining their Russian Premier League title after a 2-0 victory on the road at CSKA. First goal of the season for Cesar Navas and Aleksandr Bukharov’s injury time strike did the damage.

CSKA 0-2 Rubin

Following Spartak's slip-up on Saturday at Krylya Sovetov, Rubin had the perfect opportunity to take a large step toward retaining their Russian Premier League title.

However, they were up against a CSKA side who were rejuvenated, following a 3-3 draw at Manchester United in midweek.

It was the home side who made most of the early running, but poor finishing would let them down on more than one occasion.

Rubin were struggling to create anything meaningful in the attacking third of the field, but the two teams would go into the half time break all square.

Following the resumption, CSKA continued on the offensive. Milos Krasic forced a comfortable save from Sergey Rizhikov.

And minutes later the Army Men really should have taken the lead. However, Massu, who was playing his first game since September, elected to shoot, despite seemingly having a team-mate in a better position.

It seemed just a matter of time before CSKA would score, but it was Rubin, who took full advantage of the Army Men's sloppiness in front of goal. The home side's defense failed to deal with a set piece, and Cesar Navas was on hand to notch up his first goal of the season, with a deft touch past the stranded Akinfeev.

CSKA pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but Sergey Rizhikov, who was overlooked by Guus Hiddink for his latest squad to play Slovenia, was equal to the challenge.

And Rubin would seal the points in time added on. Aleksandr Bukharov sent a delightful chip past Akinfeev to seal the points for Rubin.

So Rubin continue to have their destiny in their own hands, and they can wrap up a second successive Russian Premier League title with victory at home to Zenit next week.

Spartak Nalchik 2–4 Dinamo Moscow

Adrian Ropotan's brilliant long range kick opened the scoring in the first minute of the match.

12 minutes later, Aleksander Kerzhakov doubled Dinamo's advantage after Dmitry Kombarov's cross.

At the end of the first half, he hosts caught the Muscovites on a counter-attack, and Rustem Kalimullin pulled one goal back.

In the second half Kombarov made it 3-1 to Dinamo, as he found himself unmarked in the area.

With 15 minutes from time, Kerzhakov got his second of the night, as the forward found the back of the net.

Nalchik managed to score one more time, with Ricardo Santos Lago getting on the scoreboard for Spartak.

The final score 4-2 and the Muscovites go to eighth in the table.

Not yet. Spartak still has chances. With great players like Alex (ex-Inter of Porto Alegre, Brasil) and Welliton, they have to stand and fight untill the end. If Zenit manages to defeat Rubin or if it ends in a draw, and Spartak wins, the decision will be forced to the last game, with more pressure for the green side.
