In the Russian Premier League, Krylya Sovetov’s preparations have been interrupted ahead of their Europa League second leg match against Irish outfit St Patricks on Thursday.
The local prosecutor’s office attended the team’s training session to question the players, who participated in a controversial 3-2 Premier League loss to Terek back in June.
The highly charged affair in Grozny saw plenty of goals with the ending causing quite a stir.
Krylya were struggling to attack when it mattered most, after Terek's Sergey Bendz had put his side in front in the 84th minute.
The lackluster effort, along with irregular betting patterns on the match, caused a regional Yabloko party chairman Igor Ermolenko to file an official complaint.
On the field, the club is focused on bouncing back from a 1-0 loss to St Patricks in Dublin in the third qualifying round of the Europa League on Thursday.
Anything but defeatDynamo Moscow need to avoid defeat at home to Celtic to book their place in the last round of the Champions League qualifiers. The Russian side scored a valuable away goal in Glasgow last week. |
