After failing to acquire Lionel Messi, Russian Premier League rich cats Anzhi Makhachkala have turned to another Argentinean talent, Ezequiel Cirigliano.
According to Argentinean Ole newspaper, Daniel Passarella, the president of Cirigliano’s current club, River Plate, has already arrived in Italy for talks with the Russian side.
The transfer of the 20-year-old midfielder is currently valued at 9 million euro, which doesn’t look like a big sum for Anzhi, who recently offered Barcelona 250 million euro for Messi.
Cirigliano plays as defensive midfielder, but despite being a tough tackler, he’s also great with the ball and knows how to make a pass, which is quite rear for a football in this position.
He debuted for River Plate in 2010 making 43 appearances for the club since then.
The midfielder has been a regular on Argentina’s also Under-17 and Under-20 national teams.
This summer, English champions Manchester City expressed their desire for Cirigliano’s services.
