Zenit St Pete captain, Anatoly Timoschuk, has completed his move to Bayern Munich. The Russian newspaper Sport Express writes that the 30-year-old signed a contract with the German club on Tuesday.

The star midfielder will spend at least three years at Allianz Arena. When Timoschuk’s contract expires, it may be prolonged for a year by agreement of both parties.

The first rumors about Timoschuk’s possible move to Germany appeared in December 2008. It was reported then that Bayern Munich was ready to plump down $14mln for the Zenit St Pete captain and defensive midfielder.

Zenit signed Timoschuk from Shakhtar Donetsk for a record $20 mln. The Ukraimian spent two years in Russia leading Zenit to a Russian Premier League win in 2007, as well as the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup triumphs in 2008.
