AK Bars have once again leveled their final KHL series against Lokomotiv. The series now stands at two-games each after the Kazan side won the latest encounter 5-2 in Yaroslavl.
AK Bars were in full control throughout the match. It was Aleksey Morozov who got them off to a bright start, lighting up the scoreboard just three minutes in. Yukka Hentunen doubled this lead five minutes later.
Lokomotiv pulled one back still in the first. But two quick goals early in the second gave AK Bars a virtually unassailable 4-1 lead, before Toni Mortensson completed the 5-2 rout.
“It was a very tough game. We were down 2-1 in the series and couldn’t afford to go 3-1 down. We came very hard. And with a bit of luck on our side we’ve got the lead for the first time in the series and we’ve got the win”, Oleg Petrov, AK Bars forward, said.
The action moves on to Kazan now, with the series nicely poised at 2-all.
