As the Washington Capitals gear up for their deciding seventh game of the NHL playoff series, RT talks to the rising star of the team – Russian goaltender Simeon Varlamov.
He joined the Caps last year and has already won the hearts of the fans, who tenderly call him ‘Varly’. His brilliant play reversed the situation for Washington in the play-offs, where the Caps were down 2-0 in their best-of-seven series against the NY Rangers. Varly has also set a new team record for a goalie by playing in eleven straight playoff games, and he could improve on that as the series continues.
