Although his team is out of Stanley Cup contention, a bum knee will reportedly keep Nashville Predators star Aleksandr Radulov from joining Russia at the hockey World Championship which is currently underway in Finland and Sweden.
Radulov has been suffering from knee problems for the last couple of months, the Sport-Express newspaper says.
The 25-year-old got injured while competing for Salavat Yulaev in the KHL. And it was one of the reasons he didn’t rush his NHL move this past March.
The paper claims there’s a strong possibility that the troubled knee would require surgery in the nearest future.
Nashville was stopped by the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, with the best-of-seven series reaching a 4-1 conclusion.
As for Team Russia, they’ve so far won both of their starting games at the hockey Worlds and are getting ready to face Germany on Tuesday.
