Russia experienced few problems dispatching group rivals Germany, beating the Ice Hockey Junior World Championships outsiders 7-0.

Russia created a safe gap already in the first period, scoring three times through Nikita Kucherov, Nail Yakupov and Daniil Zharkov, 3-0.

Mikhail Varnakov’s men allowed themselves to relax a bit in the second 20 minutes, which saw just one goal.

Defender Albert Yarullin once again converted the powerplay, netting for the third time in as many games at the Ufa based tournament.

The final period turned into a one-man show as Russia’s Yaroslav Kosov,  bagged a hat-trick to settle the final score of 7-0.

The win sees Russia going top of Group B, with 8 points after three games. Team Canada sit second with  6 points and a game in hand against the US.

The much anticipated clash between Russia and Canada, which will decide the places from which the teams qualify for the playoffs, is scheduled for December 31.
