Lewis Hamilton is expected to visit Moscow next month. The Formula One star has agreed to take part in the annual City racing show around the Kremlin.

Ferrari test driver Giancarlo Fisichella was in the Russian capital on Wednesday. The Italian veteran said he would be joined by Mclaren's former world champion Hamilton for the event.

It will see F1 cars tour the city center giving spectators a chance to see the machines up close.

The world Rally championships will also be promoted by the appearance of three-time runner-up Mikko Hirvonnen of Finland.

According to Fisichella the drivers are looking forward to it as much as the spectators.

The 39 year old also said a possible Formula One race on the streets of Moscow would be excellent both for the sport and the fans.

“I think it would be great to make a street circuit for Formula One in Moscow,” Fisichella said. “It would be very attractive for Formula One.”

Plans to host a Grand Prix in Moscow collapsed a decade ago, but Russia is now scheduled to make its debut on the F1 map in Sochi in 2014.
