What's with the lame comments here about the gender of the driver. Lots of male drivers have crashed and died and been injured. If somebody wants to be a driver and they qualify, they should be able to be. The whole" pretending to be a man" thing is total garbage and if you are so narrow minded as to think that women should only do "women things" then please move back to the cave you came from. There are plenty of strong women and weak men and from some of the posts here some very weak men. Grow up.
I wish you well in your recovery, Maria. I am sure F1 will give you an opportunity to play a role in the sport. Maybe as a commentator or safety advisor?
What happened? The article isn't giving much detail. There was something about a support truck, and a low rate of speed. These cars have all sorts of safety features. Did she get rammed with a support vehicle or what? There's more to this story. The story isn't making any sense, that she was traveling at low speed and suffered a head impact. Did she hit a wall or flip over? Did a cow fall from the sky? Come on RT. These cars are built for high-speed crashes. How did all of this happen at a low rate of speed?
Whats also sad is that the first comment on this story is from a complete a$$ hole.Sad news (unregistered) wrote in #1
A terrible tragedy that could have been spared if they just stopped pretending to play to be men. What is the point of trying to emulate men? Don't they feel that they are good enough by themselves? We like them like they are and we don't want consider them inferior. I don't paint my lips or wear a skirt, why do they have to do boxing or risky things like this?
I hope that she can emotionally recover as best as possible. My condolences to her.
