Davydenko crushes Mathieu in German Open final

Russian Nikolay Davydenko has grabbed his first title of the season by beating Paul-Henri Mathieu in the final of the International German Open.
Davydenko, seeded second, expected a tough encounter against the Frenchman, but it appeared not as difficult as it seemed as the Russian finished the deal off in just two sets, spending an hour and a half on the clay court in Hamburg.
Davydenko, confident in his serve, won two break points out of seven in the opener to take it 6-4.
The 29-year-old showed even greater confidence in the second, allowing his rival to win just two games, 6-2.
It is the 15th professional tournament Nikolay Davydenko has won in his career. He last triumphed in an ATP event over a year ago, in June 2008.
