Russia's fans don't believe their eyes as Italy crashed the holders on the first day of the semi-final round
There's been a lot of disappointment for Russian tennis fans as the country's Fed Cup team is off to a poor start in their semi-final tie with Italy.
First, Anna Chackvetadze lost in straight sets to Flavia Pennetta.
Next up was Svetlana Kuznetsova, who took the first set against Francesca Schiavone 6-1.
However, Kuznetsova then dropped two straight and Italy took a commanding 2-0 lead in the tie.
On Sunday, Kuznetsova opens against Pennetta followed by Chackvetadze vs. Schiavone. However, experts believe Russian captain Shamil Tarpischev may make some substitutions.
