“My profession is to win Grand Slams” – Sharapova

Former World No. 1 Maria Sharapova, who’s making her return to tennis after a shoulder injury, believes she still has a lot to say in sports.
”It feels like I am thirty years old,” she told Russia’s Sport-Weekend newspaper. “I returned to the tennis court after just a nine-month break and once again I have to eat my spaghetti without sauce.”
The 22-year-old played her first match after recovering from a shoulder injury this week at the Warsaw Open, beating Italy’s Tathiana Garbin, 6-1, 6-7, 6-3.
”Now, after a long pause, every game against any opponent is a test for me,” she added.
“I have a feeling that I have not done everything I could in tennis. I have a lot of new goals to achieve. Yes, over the past nine months I learned to cook very well. But this is not my profession, my profession is to win Grand Slam tournaments," Sharapova said.
The tennis star, who is now 102 in the WTA Ranking, is in Paris preparing for the Roland Garros tournament.
”I arrived in Paris on Thursday evening, and I am still struck by how beautiful this city is. I can’t wait for a moment when finally I come out on the court here, wearing my new blue dress,” she said.
Sharapova plays her first match in the tournament against Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus.
