Olympic silver medalist Maria Sharapova declined reports surrounding her upcoming wedding to Slovenian basketballer Sasha Vujacic.

The duo plan to get married in the Turkish city of Istanbul on November 10, according to media reports.

“These are just rumors, as usual. I have no plans of staging my wedding in Istanbul,” Sharapova said.

She made the statement after a devastating 6-0 6-1 loss to Serena Williams in Saturday’s Olympic tennis final.

The athletic pair got engaged in October 2010 and intended to tie the knot this summer, but the ceremony was postponed due to Maria’s involvement in the Grand Slam and the 2012 London Olympics.

Istanbul is believed to be the venue for the wedding because Vujacic’s current club, Anadolu Efes, is based in the city.

Before moving to Turkey, the 28-year-old Slovenian played over 500 matches in the NBA for the LA Lakers and the New Jersey Nets.

OOH don't we have sour grapes that Russia has less gold than GB and GB is currently 3rd in the table and doing really well - we weren't that far behind in Beijing now were we? Were the judges cheating then too? Also Andy Murray is Scottish not English and ranked 4th in the world - Where's Russia's best male singles tennis player ranked??? (In case you don't know it's 30th - I think he cheated to get there) Andy Murray has also beaten Roger Federer 9 times before idiots.

Did you hear Murray beating Federer??? How possible is it with the margin even if Federer was asleep?? Ever seen a real MATCH FIXING?
Is it not amazing that the world has been fooled big time and no one seem to raised eyebrow..
Well, unless those asleep, but Britain certainly paid off that match to make sure the opportunity did not go by... Maybe the secret will be reveal in few years time...
...But you read it now that it was a fixed match for Murray!
