It wouldn't be so bad had we not just watched the 1991 Open (due to rain) where Jimmy told the Judge OFF FOR 5 minutes, and TOLD THE JUDGE TO GET OUT OF THE GAME. First of all, it was determined that there was no Foot Fault (an unheard of Penalty), secondly it was BOGUS BS. Serina should appeal the Penalty, and SUE the US OPEN. Yes, her temper was bad, but this is not new to Tennis, Mc Enroe made his reputation off of being the Bad Boy of Tennis who cursed Judge's off WEEKLY, how is it Serena is given a Penalty for Temper, which cost her the Match?---- THIS IS BS, only an attempt to STEAL THE TOURNAMENT from her. This match will be known as the BUSH v GORE Match of the Century--- stolen and bogus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serena should be ashamed of her conduct-she is a poor loser. Great job Kim!!!

Serena William's behaviour on numerous occasions during the match was in direct contrast to the well behaved Kim's impeccable attitude throughout. The quality of both of their tennis was always very good, but nobody likes to see sportspersons acting in an unsportsmanlike manner. I therefore deduce that Serena lost the match, narrowly on ability as she made some great shots, but the result was because her inbuilt nature went against her, this time. Mrs H.J.Pope

Serena is not the only Tennis Player who behaved in this fashion and she certainly won't be the last. I have seen numerous players smashed rackets confront linesmen or women even chair umpire and it is ok .. Come on people be realistic., Serena is a fighter we all know this to be a fact, there is no telling she would lose the final point if a foot fault hasn't been called. So we can't be so devious to say because she was loosing the game. Every player is intense when it comes to their game. I am not saying her behavior should be applauded but lets face it, its her game she has devouted herself to wining not just for herself but for America. Regardless of her behavior in this instant, don't trash the girl like this. Remember all the good. The saying is so real, do 99% good deeds and 1% bad and you are then know as a sucker. Come on people give credit where credit is due. " GIVE THE GIRL A BREAK" WE POINT FINGERS TOO READILY AND DO NOT SEE OUR OWN SHORTCOMING.

Serrena should be suspended from playing tennis for one year...... she attacked a linesman with that ball and tennis racket and used profane language........ poor loser bad sportsmanship and she also should be fined a heavy fine.... she is a disgrace to the sport of tennis.......... she has a bad attitude she thinks she is the best but Kim shows she is much better

Let's face it Serena acted badly! However, it was in the heat of the game that an erroneous foot- fault call was made that topped it all off. There was no foot fault. Serena was livid because of the bad call and expressed her distaste for the bad call in whatever manner she saw fit at the time. We do not know exactly what was said to the official or what the official might have answered. Surely Serena could have challenged the call and it would have been thrown out. I am sure she thought of it later after calming down. I am appalled at the behavior of Mary Carillo and the other commentators for their fierce comments and opinions about the sanctions to be given to Serena. Mary and others act as thogh the telling off of the official was directed towards them. They are only commentators and I don't recall them having any official capacity at all.

Serena Williams has always set a wonderful example for the public and children. So she has one mistake that cost her the match and she admitted her fault to the public. What more do you want? What we need to do is move on. I think too much was made of the whole thing considering all the bad behavior I have seen in all the years that I have watched tennis. LET IT GO.
