Indian star cricketer Yuvraj Singh is eyeing a return to the sport at the Twenty20 World Cup later this year after having battled a rare form of cancer.

The big hitting batsman was diagnosed earlier this year and spent more than a month in a Boston hospital in the United States.

Now back in India, the cricketer is fighting to return to the cricket pitch as soon as possible.

He has already returned to light training as he believes his recovery is going well, and that he can soon enjoy a healthier lifestyle. His next target is to play at the ICC event in Sri Lanka in September.

Singh was declared the Man of the Tournament in India's World Cup win in 2011.  He admitted the support he received during the recovery period was overwhelming and strengthened his resolve to make a comeback.
