This article underscores the differing approaches of the US and Europe. While the Europeans tend to take a prudent, precautionary "just in case" approach, the Americans tend to just carry on regardless (corporate profits come first) until the damage being done is SO obvious it becomes a major political issue....maybe. Or they just carry on anyway.
