Chicago more dangerous than Afghanistan?

18.06.2012 15:42

If you’re planning a visit to Chicago soon, don’t forget your sunscreen. The Windy City gets ungodly hot in the summer time, with temperatures peaking above 100 degrees Fahrenheit in early August. And don’t forget the bulletproof vests, either.

Chicago is at the very least corrupt in all of its departments and I do mean all of them. Since gun control measures were put in effect the gangbangers just went wild simply because they do not follow the law and they know most law abiding citizens are not packing any heat . so they are just having the times of their lives. But what these ignorant fools do not realize is that this is an orchestrated plan to have them do away with themselves at a faster pace. They are killing each other and the police are killing them too.

"You can't compare Chicago with Afghanistan" Of course, Chicago is not a war zone, as far as I know.

You can't compare the two numbers as Chicago population is way larger than US troops in Afghanistan.

EU should send soldiers to USA to keep peace

more cops should be dispatched to the poverty stricken areas. mostly the black/mexican community

Places I will not visit: Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, USA. Far too dangerous war zones...

To visit USA you have to: give up your liberty and pray you leave alive? Doesn't sound fun.

I've lived in Chicago for 12 years. The parts of the city that are dangerous are nowhere near the financial, shopping and tourist areas. Shooting and violence heard on the news, while very sad, are primarily on the south side of the city, and a segment of the west side. Downtown and north of downtown like Lincoln Park and Lakeview are for the most part very safe and many people are choosing to raise families in the city instead of moving to the suburbs. More and more people are returning from the suburbs to the city. In my neighborhood old houses are bought for $450,000 and replaced with $1.5 million houses.
