Great article a long overdue evaluation of the role of US/Israel and other states in preparing the assault on South Ossetia. Hopefully you will do a future article evaluating western planning, training and giving logistic Intel to Georgian forces in preparation for the assault which has all the hallmarks of Operation Storm in the Krajina in 95 given that photos were found of MPRI specialists training Georgian forces in sabotage techniques.
One issue that has not been followed up was the potential US of US and Ukrainian mercenaries.
This is just the underhand covert policy they used in the Balkans with Germany and other western countries smuggling weapons to Croat and Muslim forces while negotiating peace agreements between the three sides.
Also interesting that Ukraine and Israel where smuggling weapons into Darfur to the rebel groups there to justify our intervention there with the main rebel leaders being trained at the infamous School of the Americas.
