Iran is again making headlines. The nuclear deals are on and off constantly and the press is all over it because it creates suspense. The more important things, however, are hidden in Iraq, which is pushed off to the side just like Afghanistan was in the coverage of world events. Many say that Iraq is stable. That is not so for there have been large bombings and still there are constant attacks...

That is all well known to everyone, even children. But what is Russia’s policy towards Iran? What Russia wants ? In this all Russia is playing the role of useful fool. Medvedev does not have a vision. Seems like he forgot, in 3 years there will be another American election.

John I agree totally with the picture you paint of my country the US, the whole world is aware of it; The good news is Russia does too and it's a chess game for them, Russia has to modernize it's economy and Military, they're in process. Patience, the US will destroy itself with it's spending, borrowing, and military expansionism; This is not 1945 when the whole world was in ruins and the US had a jump on everyone, the world has caught up, this is a different world from 1945 or even 1975, however most American people still live in old myths they have long been brain washed to believe...richest? (2% own 95% of the wealth) powerful?( Korea, Vietnam, Granada, Panama,Iraq, Afghanistan, CIA sponsored overthrow of foreign governments)..
Democracy? (takes 700 million to win the presidency) We don't even have universal health coverage like most advanced nations. Could we turn it around? I don't think so there will be no change...You say the US may change its president in three years, so what? he's no different now than before or will it be in the future . The US is just not in a position to bully anyone anymore, let alone Russia.
the renowned French historian, demographer, sociologist, and political scientist in his book "After the Empire" wrote that the US Army in Korea and Vietnam showed it's mediocrity and should be so thankful it never had to fight the Russians.
