I have been an American prisoner several times in my life, and what I found is that the political microcosm there is a mirror image of the macrocosm out here, except that in there its all served visible on a platter. I believe that Americans have lost their rights and freedoms without realizing it, but I also see that more people are realizing it with these prosecutions of conscientious people whose only crime was to reveal evil acts. This country used to villify soldiers who "were only following orders." Now we villify and prosecute conscientious people who don't just follow orders. This is evil stuff.
