Officials reject concerns over 500 percent radiation increase on California beach

06.01.2014 15:13

Health officials in California are now telling residents not to worry after a video uploaded to the internet last month seemed to show high levels of radiation at a Pacific Coast beach.

Get a dosimeter, test some coastal sites and draw your own conclusions over a period of time. Become informed for yourself, and don't conform to "Officials say" or "no immediate health risk". Wishful thinking is just as dangerous.

Bioaccumulation in the fish, and on our dinner tables. Some believe anything coming out of fed docs. Go ahead and eat it if you want. I don't buy anything from the west coast, but that only postpones the inevitable. Nuke industry banking on stupidity of the general public. Too much distracting us these days to keep us from truth.

had any dental work lately? You probably got exposed to more in the x-ray chair, or flying to the East coast than you get walking along our beaches. There are far more immediate health hazards to watch out for, so far. Pollution, garbage dumps, erosion, poisoned sea food. I am not worried about fallout from Fukushima than I am about eating the sea food.

Chicken Little strikes again! ...150 µsv is a significant local background event, but not dangerous in the short term.
Everyone is exposed to some radiation. It's the level of exposure that determines whether there's any harmful effect.
Here are a few examples:
(A microsievert is a unit that measures the biological effects of radiation.) Limit on whole-body exposure for a radiation worker for one year: 50,000 microsieverts
diation.

.. .Here today, gone tomorrow?
... ‎Dilution is the key.

Perhaps by putting nuclear reactors in military vehicles we can keep them in a safer place .. food for thought!

"Officials reject concerns over 500 percent radiation increase." Officials never tracked the radiation leaving Japan and or it's progress, but they instantly reject concerns? But the Pentagon order 14million iodine tablets? Yup, the government thinks Americans are completely ignorant and blind to the government's knowledge of how bad this situation really is.

By the way, in the grave where its dark & cold is where ya wound up with this tech Anyhow! Time to change!

This is a problem with old and poorly-deployed nuclear - e.g. nuclear built on a fault line with a too-small seawall, failsafe units built too low, and old nuclear fuel rod models. This isn't an issue not with nuclear per se. It's ignorant to pretend otherwise.

Yes our Government is lying the amount of radiation coming from fukashima is insane there destroying the planet be careful get a geiger counter and potassium iodide but be careful alot of natural food has potassium and iodide so research please The Canadian government are drug dealers of plutonium so look up Doctor Caldicott you have a right to know dont panic just be careful of the levels and your food God is bigger than radiation turn it over to him He knows the Governments are evil ephisians 6:12 peace and love this isnt a joking matter it is the most serious thing that has hit our planet

Michael Van Broekhoven 21.01.2014 17:58

Independent lab tests of seemingly badly contaminated kelps, bought in Japan, show seaweed can contain a surprising amount of Potassium. I don't know what is "offensive language" in this comment... the link to the lab results can be found by searching for radioactive hokkaido kelp lab results on allegedly apparent blog.

The sardines are suddenly disappearing from Monterey Bay and anchovies in droves now. 32 baby seal pup deaths on the beach in PG this year with a norm of 2-3 a year.

Th is is interesting, because our Sardine run in the Straits of Juan De Fuca, some 900 miles north, didn't show at all.

Lies, Lies, Lies is all the government gives us these days. TEPCO has lied since day one and the US is no different. "Red painted eating utensils" are the culprit? Really? Even the pathetic lies are so bad no one believes them anymore. Imagine the panic that would ensue should TRUTH be known. Citizens beware. Your government does NOT have your back.

Th e problem lies with this administration. There is a leaking tank at Hanford right now too, but our fearless leader sent the DOE down to decleare it safe. I don't think he cares for some reason.

Highly toxic by valve seafood warning last week on Monterey Bay seafood that means mussels clams scallops. I'm worried aren't you? Especially since no moniyoring by our government and no ban on Japanese imports to the US. Wegman's markets in upstate NY is selling tuna from Japan in their sushi products as well as local sushi bars there. Ask Hillary Clinton why she negotiated the shameful deal with Japan.

Actually, the government will eventually admit the lethality of the radiation. They just need the proper timing, the perfect moment. A moment where the fear, the chaos, the "shock and awe" will be maximized to create the perfect pretext for more Katrina-like social engineering. Imagine, a police state pretext that would call for the complete evacuation of the western United States into FEMA camps already prepped and ready to go. All those millions of people sent to their doom. The prefect depopulation mechanism.

I think anyone with a brain knew the Japanese were contaminating the Pacific when they raised their own "safe" radiation level limit from 100 to 1200 Bequerels.

Welcome to the new age. Radioactive... Radioactive...
