When they have fines for bad air quality imposed by the EEC its no wonder they have an automated tag system for vehicles with differing emission grades , the fines for air quality are massive ,there are air quality metering all over cities ,if the forecast is for a hot day they press the button and your vehicle that may not have qualifiying equipment could be banned from the city and you will get fined !

In france they have days for vehicles with a certain registration tag that are not allowed into the city if you drive in with the wrong tag you are fined , the whole road traffic system is going over to full auto in terms of revenue for the government , your tax ,insurance , mot status is on their system , they also have the diesel details like vehicles with or with out a particulate filter
parking offences have gone over to digital cameras , they are saving money on manned patrols and old systems that were to expensive to run and maintain !

Got a digital road sign network ? well they are loaded with tech, take a vehicle with a C.A.N emission system it transmits its signal appx 50ft ,now why do you think that is ?
In built GPS systems transmit 24/7 your tax ,insurance mot driver licence details ,car vin ,number plates plus where you are going or been to it also keeps a digital time line of the vehicle !
