Osama Bin Laden later referenced 9/11 in various video tapes, implying involvement, or at the very least, support for those that carried out the attack. Remember also that Bin Laden's people tried to destroy the WTC in the early 90s with a truck bomb - one of them is still in prison. It wouldn't surprise me that those responsible for the defence and security of the USA would lie about their involvement. To be blunt - they all failed. It isn't new to hear of burocrats lying about their incompetence or other failings. I am highly skeptical of the various conspiricy theories about 9/11 and am more inclined to believe the simplest version of events but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I watched the whole 911 saga play out and remember thinking that it was almost like something out of a James Bond movie, it was just too much, very American, like when the dead guy comes back to life and scares the hell out of you. If it were not true, Architects all over America would have been in an uproar as well. My first job was as an Architectural Draftsman. Present day buildings are made cheaper. In America, I could feel the floor vibrations when someone walked by. In 1945 a B25 struck the Empire State Building. The building did not fall for various reasons. I remember watching a video on the construction of the ESB. For one thing the Empire State Building has its structural steel beams encased within limestone walls or slabs of concrete 8 inches (20 cm) thick. This gives it an exceptional fire protection that insulates the steel within from excessive heating. Many modern buildings like the WTC towers have eliminated this extensive use of stone and concrete to reduce cost. The WTC relied on lightweight spray-on coatings for insulation. This insulation was simply blown off the WTC structure by the 767 collisions exposing the steel beams and floor trusses to the raging fire. Unfortunately, due to costs, modern skyscrapers are not built as strong. It would seem people with no practical experience (i.e. construction, architectural or law enforcement) would tend to believe conspiracies from "within". 3rd reason not to believe conspiracy theories is that George Soros DONATES MILLIONS to discredit George Bush and Traditional America. However, office fires die out in a maximum of 20-30 minutes in any given place, depending on the amount of burnable material. Steel may gradually deform and sag, but it never cuts or snaps - and throughout 3 entire buildings - the way happened on 9/11.

The following was told to me by a Muslim work colleague. She explained that the two planes could not have flown by Muslims because: 1) There was a book shop in the twin towers 2) In that book shop was most certainly a copy of the Koran (Quoran) 3) Muslim such as were said to have piloted the planes, would never damage/harm the word of god (ie. the Koran) 4) Therefore they didn't do it. Now I'm not sure how many holes you can see in her explanation, but there are lots. Of course, if this (wouldn't damage/harm the word of God) bit is true, then our troops in Afghanistan should throw away their armoured vehicles and simply carry a copy of the Koran around with them. :-)
