My brother was standing outside at the Pentagon on 9/11 and he saw the plane hit the building. A plane hit the building period. I believe my brother and I believe others who saw it fly into the building too. I also believe parents of a child killed on the plane who saw the building right after the event... they knew that their child's remains were just gone in the horrible fire and explosion. I BELIEVE THEM AND THE HORROR THEY EXPRESSED KNOWING AT THAT SCENE OF DESTRUCTION, NO BODY WOULD BE FOUND. These so called " 9/11truthers" are too weird and too strange to be believed. The Architect of the Twin Towers says he KNOWS why the building collasped and for awhile he suffered severe depression because he felt that his building design was flawed. I believe he finally overcame the depression and now realizes that he was NOT at fault and it was the FAULT OF THOSE MURDERERS, THOSE TERRORISTS who brought down the twin towers.

Before that, he had suggested to his FBI handlers that he would create a fake bomb, but his handlers had other plans, as even the New York Times vaguely reported (Ralph Blumenthal, "Tapes Depict Proposal to Thwart Bomb Used in Trade Center Blast", October 28, 1993) after the event. If Salem had not secretly recorded his conversations with his FBI handlers and come out with them, he too would probably have been jailed for the attack. In any case, even the 1993 bombing could have been prevented, as the bomb provider himself was no one else than an FBI informant.

A small correction to an excellent article: The final official version on WTC 7 does not say it was "compromised by falling debris". NIST did, for years, toy with the idea that the debris from the North Tower caused or contributed to WTC 7's destruction. They also speculated about the role of diesel fuel stored in the building's generators. In 2006, NIST's lead WTC investigator Shyam Sunder said in an interview to New York Magazine: "But truthfully, I don't really know. We've had trouble getting a handle on Building No. 7." In their final report in November 2008, then, they blame the total collapse on a "new phenomenon" (NIST's term) in building disasters: "thermal expansion", which caused central column number 79 to fail, which was somehow (NIST doesn't explain how) followed by the failure of the remaining 80 columns during a few seconds, after which the building came at almost freefall speed to its foundations. According to NIST, the failure of column number 79 alone would in all circumstances have destroyed the skyscraper. The building had 81 columns, but NIST now says it ultimately depended on just one column. Still, a few months ago a New York judge ruled that WTC 7 had not been constructed negligently.

I find it hard to believe that people (most in fact) still believe that Islamic Terrorist infiltrated the U.S, took over airliners and flew them, under the radar, into the Twin Towers. And that the airliners they hijacked were able to totally and utterly destroy buildings that officed the CIA and were build (And continuously renovated) to take several hits from Cruise Missiles and airplanes and fires. And how they even managed to hijack a plane and run it into the Pentagon, biggest crap in the world! With all the evidence out there, people, I believe, Tell themselves to listen to the official statement and make believe because they don't want to move outside their comfort zone and it would hurt their world-view. Most Americans do not believe the conspiracy because they just cannot accept the idea their own government would be complicit in such treachery. I felt that way for years, despite being quite willing to believe the Bush administration lied about reasons for the Iraq war. I just refused to believe the government would be part of such a treasonous plan, so it had to be Al Qaeda that acted alone. But then I kept tripping over the stumbling block - that three towers fell in NYC but there were only two planes. The government still has not been able to explain away the fall of the third tower. Catching fire from the other buildings would have left a skeleton, and it would not have pancaked down like it did. All the towers came down the same way, and thermite was found in the rubble. Those towers at World Trade Center were taken down by more than jet fuel fire. The next question is always: by whom? If you pull a loose thread on a sweater, there is always the danger that the whole thing will unravel. There are loose threads all over the government's version of the story. Why there are not seen any plane debris (wings, engines) at the crash site? Why the grass on the ground near the building is intact?

I too had a friend on the grounds of Arlington Cemetery who watched the plane impact the Pentagon. So for that part, the conspiracy folks are deluding themselves. I also had a friend who worked in the Pentagon tell me about the damage and it matched what I know happens to jets during testing impacting similar objects. As to the Twin Towers, compare what the architect says with what happened.

@MEJanssen The firechiefs at the scene saw that WTC 7 was seriously damaged ,with a bulge in the facade going up three floors and a corner of the building removed up to the 20th floor.They thought there was a serious danger of a collapse so they cordened it off and didn't try to fight the fires. They realised by about 2 in the afternoon that it was going to collapse and that it was only a matter of time. When it did finally collapse it was no surprise to them.These are experienced firefighters who know a bit about fires and what they can do.
