A high-ranking US diplomat to the UN mission in Afghanistan has been fired after he wrote a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon saying his boss was concealing presidential election fraud to benefit Hamid Karzai.

The official, Peter Galbraith, alleged that the top UN envoy in Afghanistan had conspired to conceal the extent of fraud in the August 20 election, the outcome of which remains unclear due to the fraud charges and a pending partial recount, reports the Associated Press.

Galbraith also said that the top UN envoy to Afghanistan, Norwegian diplomat Kai Eide, prevented him and other UN officials from taking effective action during the election “that might have limited the fraud or enabled the Afghan electoral institutions to address it more effectively.”

Galbraith lost his job after making those allegations.

Meanwhile, a group of Afghan lawmakers want a criminal investigation into the alleged fraud.

The new scandal could undermine the UN’s credibility in Afghanistan, as well as that of the US, which is currently reviewing its strategy in the country.

Afghanistan remains in a fragile state following the scandal-tainted presidential election. As the UN-backed Electoral Complaints Commission reviews the election results alongside with the Independent Election Commission, this new twist is unlikely to speed up the process.

Bad Moonies. UN and Ban Moon with his mother, father and whole family in charge as the King and Queen of the World - they who made Bush Jr. via their "brainwashing program," into the dictator he got to be to usher in this new world order for all of THEM -- uh oh the glass palace just shattered in the truth of how it all works at the UN and its partnership with Marvel Comics who sold out to yet another neo-nazi idea: "How to live in a war torn world" COMICS for the CHILDREN revamp from Goebbels for the 21st Century. Does any sentient being smell the same sulfur that Chavez was intelligent enough to know and also tell the truth, just like Mr. Galbraith? Perhaps the whole stinking system of the HOR and HOR / Moonie-Bush et al. idea of takeover the whole world to continue with success stories like Afghanistan .... ... it is time for a new script writer because the lie X-File forever is exposed over and over again and there are hopefully enough sane humans to demand the truth prevail rather than this abomination of it. World leaders recently at the UN told the truth, too ... Ban Moon should never have more power than those who recently showed up and demonstrated loudly how the UN works and it is anything but, Fair Elections. Fair? In countries where the idea of Moonie brainwashing rules! George W. Bush is THE prize product manufactured by the UN Moonie plan. Just say no, all drugs are the same and the Moonie one gave us GWBJr. A very ugly idea for Afghanistan and other countries anywhere in this universe and all all others known and unknown.
