The United States has long been criticised for its military presence in other countries. Military bases in the world's most far-flung regions are still causing controversy, such as in Greenland.

I served at Sondrestrom Air Base, 1981-1982. Our disposal activities were IAW accepted practices and approval of Host government. When Sony closed we took our PCBs with us, a known hazard. Anything else would be rewriting history.
