Of course it's a threat, a carefully designed threat, that will increase and increase. The US plan is simple, get us locked into a START agreement to limit warheads. Then increase and increase missiles around us until they feel confident enough for a US and NATO strike. The only intended reset, is a reset of our population to dying and enslaved to take our resources. Our military assessment is clear, so why aren't we walking away from START and developing a strategy to defeat the missile defence and maintaining a full working deterrent against the US. It seems obvious that we need more US targeted warheads to counter the missile defense effectiveness, we need effective boost decoys, we need improve our early warning and we need develop effective measures to continuously degrade and quickly neutralise the missile shield if necessary. The time for talking is over, if the system is not built from the ground up with our involvement as equal partners, with treaty safeguards linking defensive and offensive weapons, then let's realise it for what our military has said it is, a real threat to our national security. Given that let's call a spade a spade, get the gloves off and get to work to protect our country. let's move to action now.

Do the Americans think that the Russians are fools? Because only a fool would fail to see that the neutralisation of the Russian nuclear deterant is the real objective to this 'shield'. To add insult to injury the Americans also want the Russians to voluntarily reduce their nuclear weapons 'in the name of peace and cooperation in reducing global nuclear arms'. In this age of naged US expansionism this is the last thing Russia should do. It has not have gone unnoticed by even the casual observer that Russia is rapidly being encircled on the ground and at sea by the US / NATO. As a result Russian shipping is now more vulnerable to interception than at any time since the end of the cold war, its military and civil aviation is vulnerable to interception by a wide variety of systems - including various 'missile shield' systems which could make light work of fast jets and missiles alike. The curreent 2 pronged 'attack' against Russian nuclear arms is nothing more than a blatent attempt to limit / restrict the options of the only country that can currently mount an effective nuclear counter attack against a nation which no longer hides its ambitions to dominate world resources and control the largest global 'empire' since the Romans. Russia - you had better watch your back because no one else is.

You guys should just chill out because the United States is a very benevelent power with the welfare of Russia uppermost in mind. If Russia is attacked by China or any of the surrounding countries, the United States would probably be the first to give Russia assistance, as when Hitler was trying to take over Russia. Historically, the United States has stood by Russia when the chips were down. Don't assume that things have changed just because the political wind is blowing in the wrong direction. Politics is an ever changing enigma.

Hello from Romania, A large part of our country is also against this shield plan but our gov. doesn't want to make a referendum on it. They approved it knowing people don't want and that is also affects our neighbours. All I can say is that USA wants to control the world and that is a regretable thing.

what can be said here, is the USA is trying to dominate the world ...

I guess Russia will want to factor in the various US missile defense systems when calculating arms reductions. If the US government doesn't want to include their missile defense systems in the equation then they will probably not be able to reach an agreement. Re: Chill "...the United States would probably be the first to give Russia assistance, as when Hitler was trying to take over Russia...." Actually, the USA was brought into WWII by the Japanese invasion of Pearl Harbor and the subsequent declarations of war on the USA by Italy and Germany - over six months after Germany invaded Russia and two years after the fall of France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Roosevelt thought that Britain would capitulate, Europe would be lost and that the USA should look out for her own interests.

I don't understand why US government is denying that it is them who are the greatest threat to the world. Theonly reason that US goes to war is because they are either forced to or profit from it. First world war: german u-boats attacked american trade ships. american's had a huge trade relation with britain and france, so they didnt want these to be destroyed. Second world war: at start US is no where near the dominence, - fact they are in an economic depression (oh what a big suprise!!!), allied powers were buying weapons which were made in US, once again trade is in danger. japan forces a war by a suprise attack... (i want to include the japanise invasion of china, as it was the USSR who was the first nation to help chinese) Korean war - forced attack on a us ally. US abuse their nato powers. Vietnam wars- US worried of communist growths in asia (anti communist crusades) Gulf war 1 - forced war,us ally under atack. Afghan invasion - us stratigic advance against out of control terrorists. Gulf war 2 - bush likes oil. wth, he loves it more than the lives of his own people.
