Although Americans are not known for their interest in world affairs. - What a very stupid comment! RT Journalists need to travel to the United States more. Unlike Russia, we don't have the police punishing our people for speaking out! Isn't that against the 31st Article of the Russian Federation Constitution? (Citizens of the Russian Federation shall have the right to gather peacefully, without weapons, and to hold meetings, rallies, demonstrations, marches and pickets.) Please do more research, before you make stupid remarks about the United States of America. Our Freedom of Speech is located in the "First Amendment" of the US Constitution. (Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.) Do you notice any similar references between the two Constitutions? Not much really....but we take our Constitution more seriously.

American people are sensitive actually on world affairs but they are not well informed by media (Media that's sided ,one eyed ). Local news showed mostly Israeli statements and described activists as provocateurs etc. Other news sources are CNN,BBC and etc and you already know how their news are...So its not American people to blame but the Media..

to C, In America your freedom to speak is lost in the ocean of distorted corporate media disinformation to conceal prohibited knolwdge privileged only to the controling system at the top. Americans are programed to have only collective openion served by this controlling system and any independant view is effectively supressed and eliminated. In othrer words, Americans are under total control in every aspect of their lifes that even their age limit is set in advance.

1st, C, you posted on a comment on the wrong story. The protests on Article 31 that were dispersed... They were held so obviously people take it seriously. And one phrase for you to show you how similar we are before you lay judgement, "Freedom of Speech Zones." Don't think the world hasn't seen how Pittsburgh protests were peaceful, yet scattered with sound cannons. We won't forget each time a politician has an assembly they have freedom of speech zones far away from the elected official so no one challenges his or her voice. We saw American cops beat the tar out of people for asking questions. We saw grandma's being tasered for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports game. We see children having their lemonade stands taken down by city officials. Americans have a constitution, some are taking it seriously, yet they are destroying it piecemeal. I don't think us sitting on a computer will change that. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Hey C, I don't know what America you're from. The America I live in is one of the most oppressive countries on the globe. Time to wake up sleepy head and open your eyes to what is really going on.

Thank you everybody for showing me the truth. Everything that Putin's cheerleading media tells you, must be correct! Never believe in the evil lies that the Western media tells you. Trust me - there are lies on both sides! As for Artyom - "you" are posting in the wrong place, because this article is called "Americans rally against attack on flotilla." What part of my free speech comment that you didn't get? As for the comment "We saw grandma's being tasered for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports game." Where is the proof on that story? Did you see that on youtube? You and your comrades are totally drinking the Kool-Aid of the biased Russian media. It's time to expand your minds, that maybe there are two sides to a story if you do your research.

C, "Unlike Russia, we don't have the police punishing our people for speaking out!" What pathetic rubbish. Its about time that Yanks gave their heads a good shake and finally admit that: 1) The USA is no more free than any Western democracy, and with the ludicrous "war on terror", political freedoms and protections from government mendacity are being steadily eroded. 2) That Russia is a democracy, and that Russian public have as much freedom to gather, complain, demonstrate, and voice their concerns to the government as any Amerikan has. Russia is no longer a Stalinist dictatorship, and the KGB/NKVD don't kick in peoples doors in the middle of the night to arrest people who compain about the lack of bath-plugs in the local stores. You complain that RT journos need to travel more (presumably to overcome what you see are their ignorance) yet you indulge in the most tawdry and outdated stereotypes imaginable.
