As the US fights with Brazil over Iran, the emerging powers of the BRIC group may be embracing Turkey.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has criticized Brazil's involvement in diplomatic negotiations with Iran and Turkey, stating that the United States and Brazil have serious differences concerning Iran's nuclear program.

This follows the escalating debate over Iran’s nuclear program and the recent Brazil-brokered Iran-Turkey uranium fuel swap deal. This deal is nearly identical to previous proposals put forward by the US and other Western states. The deal is seen by many in the international community as a confidence-building measure moving forward with Iran and its nuclear agenda.

On April 20, US President Barack Obama sent a letter to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula de Silva embracing Brazil’s efforts to seek a deal between Turkey and Iran. However, almost immediately after the deal was reached the Obama administration began to push for new sanctions against Iran.

“Obama not only betrayed himself, but he stepped on the back of two of his closest allies, Brazil and Turkey,” said Pepe Escobar, a journalist in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

While the Obama administration was focused on another round of sanctions against Iran, Brazil and Turkey worked successfully to secure a non-confrontation diplomatic solution.

“Obviously for the Washington elites, they are not happy to see two middle-ranking powers who pose as honest brokers in the Middle East and achieve results. This is what we mean by a new multi-polar world where diplomacy rules and not confrontation,” said Escobar.

The US is dangerously close to losing credibility, said Escobar. Arguing that when the United States attempts to pass a fourth round of sanctions against Iran, Brazil, Turkey Russia and China will rebuke them.

“Leave us some time, let’s see if Iran fulfills the obligations of the Tehran declaration. This means a few months at least and then if Iran breaks the rules that they are accepting than we might consider talking about sanctions again,” said Escobar.

Offering a deal that was widely accepted as the way forward, closing it and then immediately calling for sanctions is not the right way forward.

“This is not diplomacy. This is intimidation,” said Escobar.

The US is snubbing the world’s regional powers, not just Brazil by pressing them to follow the US directly.

“The new counter-power to American unilateral foreign policy is the G20 and the BRIC countries – Brazil, Russia, India and China. And soon they are going to be BRICT because yesterday [Turkish Prime Mininster Recep Tayyip] Erdogan and Lulu were discussing in Brazilian that Turkey soon is going to be the fifth member of the BRIC countries,” said Escobar.

Every country and its related resources are unique in theirs own qualification.Every country needs the global compatibility in"MARKET"theory;as well as Local Harmony in"INTEGRATION"theory,However make a balance of internal+external trade with respect to the Individual"CITIZEN"theory. Its not appropriate to say that,"If loose the speed,we will disintegrate";rather it seems as a effect first and cause later.Russian might is unmatchable,But the west(mostly by the misuse of power)has succeeded in global theory of marketing of,even theirs inferiority on many products/goods/services.It will be suitable to increase the marketability of Russian internals,at every cost;without compromising on National Integration. The world will not remain as it is,for the next2-3-4-5decades;which will see the various ups/downs.So,the theory of Marketing doesn't applies exclusively on Russia,Rather its a very good time, when the other booming economies are on decline+depression+negative growth,Brazil+Russia+India+China(B-RICh:sounds"BE RICH")can take it as an advantage,to compensate these time in favour. No any single Premier of any country can drive from cause to effect,But when the system goes in fine tuning with the futuristic requirements, the Resilience+Longevity+Opportunities comes naturally.Amid the booming economy; problem of China+India is theirs vast population, whereas the positive is theirs bigger consumer market. The Russian have booming economy, but failing against the adequate number or at least a proportionate number of population(Human Resources).Whereas Brazilians have booming economy, but more than one disturbing factors. Therefore, its the time,to exchange the excess for the good for self.If You will seed today with vision+care+predictions for2-3decades,the result will be more robust+competitive+ marketable. As soon as"BE RICH"will put a combined vision, they will definitely WIN!World is far from revolutions, its a time for spatial resolution,to MAKE the puzzle, not crack for others!

I agree with you that Turkey must work toward leaving NATO. Note, in 2003, on the onset of the U.S/UK war of aggression against Iraq, Turkey refused to allow its soil to be used as a staging ground to attack Iraq. I think it is not so easy for Turkey to leave NATO at once but, the country is making the right moves by strengthening its economic ties most of all with Russia and now with Bric countries. Turkey is more important to the building up the power of BRIC than some other countries which are part of Bric at the moment. the recent Brazil/Turkey initiative to defuse the nuclear talks with Iran shows that the U.S and its allies can no longer treat the world as their playground.

In last years Turkey showing more and more true independent policy. I think Turkey place is in BRIC and I will be happy to see that! In my opinion there is one thing what Turkey shall do before become part of BRIC and thats is to live NATO and expel Usa bases.Unlike NATO (USA tool) , BRIC block stand for multipolar, fair and peaceful world so Turkey have to show as first and foremost their honest intentions...EU play with you kids games(they do not want you in EU) for 50 years and NATO-USA use you for their own goals(never was in your national intrest) so I sugest you to cut the chains and be reborn as a Great power next to others in BRIC!My country been 500 years under your rule and I can tell you -you got much ,much more HONOR as nation than those from NATO-you do not belong there!Even your past history enemys got more respect for you than your own "friends"from EU and NATO-USA...Congratulation to you and Brasil on deal done with Iran! All talks about sanctions shall stop-any new sanctions on Iran(always peaceful true history-unlike West) will be UNLAWFUL! I do hope that Russia and China in the end will not support those unjust sanctions becouse there is not any valid reason after all for it...Iran done what is was ask for to do, so Russia and China shall stop this "show" once and for all! Thanke you.
