Worst Congress. Ever.

In the 34 years that an ongoing poll has asked Americans for their take on Congress, never in the three-decade span has that number dipped into the single digits. Never, at least, until now.

Back in October, we reported that the job approval rating for Congress was at an all time low. Guess what? Things aren’t looking any better for the boys on Capitol Hall.

Only 11 percent of Americans favor the current work by lawmakers in Washington reports CNN, as the news organization mulls over data of its latest poll in conjunction with ORC International, the results of which were released on Monday.

With barely one-in-ten Americans okay with Congress’ current job, the latest poll marks the lowest approval rating for the House and Senate in the history of the CNN/ORC survey. The previous all time low, according to their own questionnaire, was 14 percent; Congress dipped that low only last August.

Only five months later, however, Americans are still angry at the bipartisan bickering and lack of work coming out of Washington, instead being stuck with continues lackluster employment numbers and a crumbling economy. The recent approval of the controversial National Defense Authorization Act no doubt had something to do with the disappointing figure as well.

"Republicans and Democrats can't agree on much, but they both agree that Congress is doing a lousy job," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland says of the report.

Holland adds that "Approval of Congress is just 10 percent among Republicans, and only 16 percent among Democrats,” while only nine percent of independents surveyed say they have a positive view on Congress.

The poll comes from questioning a pool of 1,021 Americans during the second week of January 2012. Only three months earlier in October, however, a separate query conducted by CBS News in conjunction with the New York Times found that, after questioning 1,650 American adults, they then put Congress’ approval rating at 9 percent — the lowest those agencies ever saw in a poll of their own.

the reason we are upset at congress and the president is because of their attitude towards the american people. We live in America, it is our country. However, the only decisions we ever get to make are the governmental elections. They regard america as a child with fits. We'll get angry from time to time, but we won't actually do anything. The process has gone on long enough. The law to run for congress is to be a nationalized citizen, and the law for presidents is to be a citizen by birth. However, the policy makers have been anything but that.
In U.S. history, we were taught that disparate colonists fought for liberty and equality, and we succeeded, outdoing the odds. In that event we were brought together as a nation, and drove out the British forces with whatever cost deemed necessary. This inspires an undying patriotism in most children, which continues on for the rest of their lives. Congress is bringing this nation together, however, we are coming together against it. Congress is becoming a separate entity, unknown to the American people, where only a few manage to get in. They do not represent America, we do. They try to do whats best for us, as a mother would her child.
Congress and the people are not meant to be a paternal relationship. We are here to tell it to do what we want. They are only here to find the middle ground in our wants, the more peaceful route. However, they have begun to tell us what we want, becoming completely opposite of their intended purpose, and are becoming hated for it. The required force to make congress back down would have to be enormous. They control a nation of 300,000,000 people, and would require not only a D.C. march, but a march in most major cities. We have yet to step up in numbers greater than 1000, and I doubt we will.
We have a right to change our government if we do not like it. Let us uphold this right. All protests so far have been disorganized and have sponsored petty reasons. Movements equal to Tunisia, the fall of the U.S.S.R., and Tianmen square would be required in all Cities. We are a democracy. Power should be invested in the people, not in the organizations that provide it. By the people, with the people, for the people.

It's because Congress has turned into a dumb cog in the political-judicial complex. Doing whatever they are told just for a fat paycheck with benefits.

It used to be that congressmen used their brains, voted their convictions, voiced their concerns, read their constituent's letters, addressed their concerns and represented the people.

Now, the people get the "your call is important to us" BULLSHlT treatment and congress just vote the line of the party.
They have become the Los Levantamanos just like in Argentina and the people are hating them for that.
