Czech MP awaits NATO summit to decide on ABM radar

The Czech Republic has postponed a parliamentary vote on hosting a U.S. anti-ballistic missile radar base on the country’s territory.

The Czech government has decided to postpone asking its parliament to vote on allowing a U.S missile shield base on its territory. It appears the leadership was concerned the proposal would be voted down.
Opposition politicians in Prague are taking legal action to prevent the US from building part of a controversial missile defence system on Czech soil. The Socialist Democrats are asking the Czech constitutional court to rule on the legality of the shield.
Protestors in white robes carrying rainbow flags, including more than one hundred Czech mayors, showed up at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels to campaign against the US planned missile shield.
