Historically, Americans have always been suspicious and even paranoid of government intrusiveness in their lives, so is the recent spate of bloodshed a normal phenomenon?

Interesting that RT made the face of the next American Revolution white, because that is exactly the people who will rise up, and there will be hell to pay. The revolution that will consume America will be a bloody one. Mobs of private armies will roam the land in search of "enemies" - just like in the Bolshevik Revolution that began in 1917. Peace will be imposed by a dictator, and the American democracy will only be a faded memory. Ironic that the future America might become a dictatorship, while the Russian federation is a democracy. Not much to look forward to.

The American public were ignored and the law makers that we sent to congress decided that their wishes are more important than the people who put them there. This sort of thing is not the Way of the American people. Our country was started when a group of people said Enough is Enough. Sure enough there are people on both sides of the current debate that are ready to shed blood for the wrong reasons. It may well be that a radical on either side will ignite a fight. Right now nothing is for certian except, this week thousands of American's will buy guns and flock to militias. When the Government fails to represent you, Your personal Freedon is nothing. One point ignored by the world press, The US economy is in trouble. Many have no jobs and small employers are struggling to stay open. Add to this a bill that will force people to spend more money and enlarge the US government. The Liberials claim that this will improve our Economy, But even a child knows that spending money Never saves you money.

I'm not paranoid, I'd just like to know who's running the country. Who are they and what are they doing??

american civil war will only strengthen their agenda. we kill eachother off(good for them) and since we are all covered, they get richer we get poorer.also good for them. the united nations has no right either to ban guns in u.s. we are a soveriegn nation. they have NO say in what we do. i say impeach obama and revise the entire uniform commercial code. us being a soveriegn independent nation means that not even a global law can govern us. WE govern us. WE gave congress and the senate their jobs. they work for US. how dare they defy the will of the american people!!! we dont need to fight eachother. its not dem vs. rep or lib vs. neocon. its us against the banks. race doesnt matter and neither do political standing. fact is, banks stole our country and are selling it off to pay our 106trillion dollar debt. china owns half our debt. thats why they are in california. clinton gave them the long beach naval shipyard in his first term. as well as the panama canal and our military technology. traitor. we put him BACK in office? your birth certificate is a bond. you can check its value and see how much money they have made with your life's value. you can also use that money to pay your bills and your debt. i urge americans to feed your minds and not let big brother bring us down by poisoning the minds of our children. the very word "American" is being cycled out of text books. its now "politicaly incorrect" and "derrogatory". wake up people. we already are at war and have been for a long time. its now time to become part of it. you no longer have the luxury of standing by while your country is being looted by these banks. stand up.

Representative Democracy is an oxymoron. If six people all have differing opinions on an issue how can one opinion Represent them all. To overcome this contradiction politicians have resorted to metaphysics and discovered the National Interest. As the soul has some assumed ,though mysterious, relation to the body so the National interest has some assumed relation (even more mysterious) to the people who live in a particular country. What politicians like about this idea is that they can dismiss many of the actual interests of their voters(Oligarchs excluded). And as anybody can discover for themselves just by considering what is involved in any self governing community. representative Democracy is not democratic. On the contrary everywhere from the USA to France to Germany the movement towards democracy has halted. What is left is the periodic choice of rulers. A modification of the aristocratic principle. Not its replacement. As for America. The discourse of its political parties remains firmly rooted in the 18th century. Perhaps an unintended consequence of its written constitution. In Europe things are again entering a period of flux. Capitalism has spectacularly failed. Alternatives have yet to is mobilize any social forces.

Imagination creates the idea of "reality." The reality being co-created is not real UNLESS, experienced. Experience occurs without ceasing. Perhaps the time is, that, we are all as sick as what we see since what we co-create is the real for all who find human experiences on a finite planet. Thus, until the same insane "humans" are brought into the light (Russia, China, et al. ALL are just as "guilty" as the US, PLEASE), then this GAME by those who are in the insane idea of "more real," canNOT be grown-up. Grown-up SPIRITS are not gamers, leaders and presidents of the "world."

Great, so you pointed out a few cases where individuals murdered other people. How many did Salin kill? Those people in America that want a limited government and a return to basing laws on the constitution are not extremist. They are a force for peace that would put an end to America's agressive Imperialistic policies.

March 23, 2010, 23:05, Brian wrote > I'm not paranoid, I'd just like to know who's running the country. Who are they and what are they doing?? Brian-- the Federal Reserve is running the country. This criminal cartel of American and foreign bankers is responsible for every economic upheaval that has taken place since 1914. This is where the focus needs to be: It needs to be shut down. Congress has the authority to do this, and the Constitution ONLY gives the Treasury the right to print and regulate money. The Federal Reserve Act was not ratified, and is illegal. Now, the treasury has to borrow money to run the country from the Federal Reserve-- at interest. It is a system based solely on DEBT.

It looks like there will probably be civil war in the USA, and it will last several years. We all need to prepare to live by hardship. The next few years are going to be painful for most people in the US, people that are not self-reliant.

I suppose American right wingers merely want an anarchy, if they hate and despise their government so much.

Karina1003 do not mix right wing extremism with anarchy.
Libertarianism, the US "main stream-supported by BIG MONEY" might seem to be ideologically close to anarchy, but they ask only for the freedom to make profit out of anyone, and anyone upon which that profit has been made of doesn't have any rights to protect themselves against it.
I rather see Libertarians to be something like what was National Socialism at the first half of the 20th century.  Nazi used the name "socialism," for it was quite attractive to the masses.  But generally anything that they stand for were actually interests of old land owners, royalists, big industrialists.  As such National Socialist party was funded fully by BIG MONEY, and above all it is important to note that it was fully funded and supported by the US big money, Ford, Chase bank, and alike.  It is exactly what is happening in the US today.  The US population is hooked to the term "freedom" but rather dogmatically.  Anyhow, Libertarians utilize it to promote the interest of the big business, i,e, Koch Brothers, and alike.
We, in the US are going to be screwed by these violent, up to teeth filled by weapons, extremists, right wing militias.  They have as much with Democracy and Freedom, as much Hitler and Nazis had.  I am an atheist, but may God be somewhere to help us.
Unfortunately, I can see Kihnu's comments come alive.  The only thing is that in the US case left (if there is any) and progressives (centrist, and left to center - it is what in the US the right likes to call "left") will be hunted down.

You are so freaking stupid man, please don't have kids though stupid people are prolific.

Libertarianism protects civil rights via federalism, that is the government's  contract (see the constitution and other laws) with society. Libertarianism means that the EPA won't be able to write a waiver to Nike for dumping toxins into the local pond (it won't safeguard corp). Your summary of what a libertarian is in our society is as accurate as a CNN's zealot's summary of The Tea Party: Bias, agenda'd, writ with ad hominem beliefs and utter nonsense. Please go back CNBC or something, this site isn't for you.
