After being hit by a car, a dog called Toozik lost the use of his back legs. Thanks to the care of Russian vets, two wheels have given him a new lease of life, and that life has now taken him to America.
I am the Volunteer Coordinator at Pets with Disabilities and look forward to meeting Toozik this evening ! So many animals are left homeless because of neglect and ignorance. All living things need human kindness and I do my part as often as I can and find it very rewarding! Thank you for doing your part to help Toozik live a good life.
Thanx for our Toozik! I wish him a happy new life! All volunteers and staff of the shelter worried for him! Now everything will be fine! Kiss him in the nose!
This is a wonderful story.Joyce and her organization has done an amazing job rescuing and rehabilitating dogs. I know, as I have rescued one of her dogs this March, a 2 year, jack russell with problems in both hind legs. Thanks to Joyce is is healthy, happy and enjoying life to its fullest. Thanks you Joyce and all your volunteers for all you do!!!!
I think that is so sweet that toozik found a home and I hope he does well there.
I saw Toozik when he was it shelter in Russia. He is endearing and sweet dog, he rubbed of my legs like little kitten. I like this dog and hope he will find his own home and loving owners.
What a wonderful story about great people, a super cause and a genuine love for all living creatures!!
Our little Bichon Frise, Jordan became disabled January 2009. We don't know how as when we came home from work she was in pain and couldn't move. The vet took xrays and found she had a severe spinal cord injury. With time the vet said she may walk again but a year has passed by and she still is disabled. This little girl has more happiness and love to give. She still plays with our other 4 Bichons and melts our hearts with her amazing spirit. We cannot imagine our lives without her. If you have a home and heart for a disabled dog adopt one now. They will enrich your life beyond your imagination.
Looked this videoclip, and on eyes there were tears. These are tears of pleasure that in the world there are people who are always ready to come to the aid of defenceless animals!!! Here in fact as happens-th of St.-Petersburg and Toozik has seen on your site...)) Give the God to all health, happiness and love!!! Kiss Toozik for me:-))

Pets With Disabilities is an awesome organization which has helped disabled dogs all over the world. Joyce & her husband make sure that every dog they rescue is rehabilitated and found just the right home, whether the dog be blind, deaf, disabled for some other reason. Whether the dog is old or young they are always able to find a home for the dog that most people would say is unadoptable, there is always the perfect home or perfect person for that special animal. This wonderful rescue depends on donations from the public, if donations don't come in, Joyce and Michael will make sure all the animals they rescue are taken in. I believe in what they are doing and have recently adopted a dog from them. I myself have rescued several blind and old ones that people have just tossed aside. I have a 14 yr old dachshund that I rescued last year from a kill shelter last year whose owners could no longer be bothered with him, this year my young man is nearly blind and recently diagnosed with diabetes and requires a daily injection of insulin. I love the older dogs and will try to do anything to get people to adopt them, most have medical issues or chronic medical issues. Thank you Joyce and Michael for opening my eyes to the plight of the disabled animals.
