"Do not reset, go forward" – former US State Secretary

Deterioration in Russia-US relations in recent years is ‘regrettable’ and both sides are to blame, believes former US Secretary of State James Baker.
The blind trust that some Russian leaders in the past placed in US promisses resulted in disappointment and serious damage to Russian interests. The notion of "going forward" is comfortable to US. No, there is no way of going forward without making some changes on both sides. Since Russia cannot control what changes, if any, happen in US foreign policy --- the only change that is effective is the one Russia controls. And that will mean under current circumstances a set of baby-steps to insure that the results are tangible, before embarking further. And that will mean a substantial change in tone. The new "glasnost" in US is certainly wellcome accross the world. However, it does not mean avoiding asking tough questions, and questioning premises that Russia does not agree with. Disagreeing without being disagreeable should be the motto of the new relationship. The acceptance of US attitudes amounts to nothing more then the repeat of the nineties.
The world does not need more of the same. Treaties, alliances, cooperatives, partnerships and on and on with deceiving each other. What has any of this garbage done for the world since world war II? What the world needs is plenty of good deeds and less propaganda. Sometimes, in modern times, propaganda is so sweet and smooth that it is mistaken for truth. In this world truth is almost nonexistant. It is all about power and wealth. So when you hear a lot of pretty word noise, ask yourself if there is any truth to any of it or if it is just the usual dose of propaganda.

My difficulty in trusting the so-called speakers for the free world is, the ACTIONS always speak volumes in comparison to words: "Ye shall know them by their fruits." How is it that a former US Secretary of State has his family's law firm firmly rooted in Russia? Wow, and then with AIG in China, the "partnerships" are convenient ---- moved from COOPERATION!?? Now, my cousin Karl Marx would have looked at this and said: cooperation NOT communism. But, hey ho, Marx's words/idea replaced with the agenda of those who pull the NWO strings ... AND, it is working when these interesting traders, of commodities to exchange, find themselves for eons now .... owning the empire earth without even a tussle? Partnerships, not cooperation? Why not cooperative partnerships? Partner is a good old western handshake in some circles where the jerk is not even a cowboy.
