Fair comments from mr.Robert Norris! I dont argee with Republicans..This is not one one step back-its only one step-and only one step forward!Mr.Obama did right thing 100%!Nobody is loser here-everyone is winer.Usa future security depend only on one state policy-Russia! ABM was a wrong idea at the first place-Obama understand that verry well! Major problem is gone and i think there is a big chance, that Russia and Usa will have some kind of united missile defence in future to serve both states!Republicans are so wrong and we all know that mr.Obama have the biggest problem at home!Once more-mr.Obama policy is correct one -indeed!Thanke you...

@ ZAK… Exactly! Absolutely the right outlook, Russia didn’t win, good sense did, and from my perspective, the world just got lucky. What Russia must now not forget is that the USA is as at war, a vicious internal war, and now that Obama has taken this bold step, he is going to need all the help he can get. The right war has just begun, and the world cant afford to lose it.

How can Republicans argue against that? Easily. Republicans can argue anything, as we have seen before. But Obama and the Democrats need to stay firm. And there are other problems that nobody can solve but a resolute President backed by the majority in Congress. And that is to pull back from the destructive wars that are eating our country from the inside. I agree strongly with all comments here. Obama is going to need all the help he can get. And he will get it, if he takes on the putrid special interests that just want more military contracts. The Star Wars was a swindle of the century, and swallowed untold billions of dollars. This is not about winning. Russia did not win, Obama did. The first benefits are already showing. Finland's Foreign Minister said that this decision will help stabilize Baltics. It is good to here all the leaders expressing their support for Obama decision. Yes, I believe that the removal of unnecessary tension will help countries in the Baltic region, as well as the entire East Europe, focus on their own issues, and the improvement of relationships with their neighbors. It is time to work on bulding confidence in Eastern Europe. "The problem here is that people have the sense that we are facing a deeper change in Europe,” said Janusz Reiter, chairman of the Center for International Relations in Warsaw and a former Polish ambassador to the United States and to Germany. "The United States’ presence in Europe is decreasing, while Russia appears to be looking to play a larger role.
