Oh really? So, if Georgia were to become a member of NATO and then decided to retake South Ossetia by force, would Germany then go to war with Russia if Georgia invoked Article 5 of the NATO treaty? I don't think so. Quite apart from the potential loss of gas supply during any conflict, I can't see Germany (or any other NATO state) wanting to join one of Sakashvilli's adventures.
