Members of the New Black Panther Party had allegedly intimidated voters who looked as if they may not vote for now US President Barack Obama, FOX News has been extensively covering the story.
Allegedly members of the New Black Panther Party positioned themselves outside of a polling station in Philadelphia with the intent to intimidate voters as they arrived to cast their votes during the 2008 presidential election.
“I have been predicting that the attack would increase as we go into the elections, because this whole so called voter intimidation controversy is just a tool by the Republicans,” said Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz, the chairman of the New Black Panther Party.
Shabazz said he expects the attacks to increase and he expects to see ads featuring the New Black Panther Party as well as new allegations against them.
“They [Fox News] have no intention on being, as they say, fair and balanced. They want to paint us as extremists and they don’t want the truth to come out because they have political purposes,” said Shabazz.
He continued, later adding that “this is just part of the right wing paranoia in playing on racial fears, unfounded racial fears in every way. I say Fox News should be ashamed of themselves. We used to be on Fox for years, but now they won’t call us, but they like to talk about us but they are afraid to talk to me and us.”
Shabazz argued that the charges against the New Black Panther Party have no merit. It was not an organizational conspiracy by the organization, he said.
“There’s not even one voter or anybody that came to the poll that said they were intimidated,” said Shabazz.
Fox News is trying to stir up the Tea Party and anti-Obama movement by pulling on racial fears, argued Shabazz. He said that in the end however these groups will fail.
The Fox News Channel is currently the number one cable news channel in America. Shabazz attributes this to their audience, which he said is made up of mostly whites, Republicans, some independents, Confederates, hard right-wingers and racist organizations.
“It’s really the dissatisfied whites in America that are saying they want to take their country back. We interpret that as meaning take our country back from this black man who happens to be the president,” said Shabazz.
Shabazz said that Fox News is a “manipulation machine” and that until we have unbiased media in America we will not see truth in the media.

If it were the KKK and not the new Black Panther party out intimidating
voters, would it only be FOX News speaking out? Not no, but hell no.
Would the Justice Department have dropped the case? Not no, but hell
no.
Can a white person disagree with a black person and not be a racist? Of
course the answer is yes. When a black person disagreed with George
Bush, was he a racist? Of course the answer is no. Then why is every
white man who disagrees with Barrack Obama a racist? I do not support
Obama. That doesn't mean I don't want a black man (or woman) as
President. I would have no problem supporting people like Colin Powell,
Condi Rice, JC Watts, Michael Steele, or Herman Cain. I am very much considering
voting for Herman Cain for the Republican nomination.
The problem is that those who supposedly stand up for the minorities
(blacks, hispanics, etc.), always play the race or class (rich/poor)
card because the facts don't support their cause. That is what this
Black Panther leader is doing. That is what Obama supporters do. FOX
News is simply calling them out on it.
The problem I have with this article is first it states that FOX News is stirring up racial fears as a fact. It is not a fact. This is someone's opinion. I can write an article and title it "FOX News calls out injustice in the Justice Department" and write about the same topic. Secondly there is only one person speaking in the article. This person is an extremist and has no credibility but RT quotes him like he is an expert. What about quoting someone with a different point of view? What about giving both sides of the story and let the reader decide on his own? I know many here don't like FOX News, but when you watch it, you'll see more than just one side of the story. You don't get that with RT. If RT wants to be a credible news agency, it needs to be "fair and balanced".

A big problem today in America is the sense of entitlement. Instead of taking advantage of opportunities and working hard to better themselves, many minorities (and some whites also), expect the government to do it for them. From housing ("even though I can't afford it, the government has to force banks to give me a loan so I can buy a house"), to health care ("The government must force others to pay for my health care"), to affirmative action ("Another person earned this job more than I did, but because I'm a minority the government must give it to me"), to services in foreign languages ("America didn't ask me to come here but since I'm here, the government must provide all services in my language even if I broke the law by coming here"). What made America great is exactly the opposite of this. When government got out of the way, America was prosperous. We in America welcome people from other countries, we just ask that they come here legally. We in America are a very kind people. We will help those who are in need. But we will only do it temporarily. We won't support the needy their whole life.
You won't see much of this on the news, but there many successful minority businessmen that are not athletes or politicians. These men (and women) took responsibility for themselves instead of waiting for handouts from the government. They are now doing well.
