The former head of the West German Military Intelligence has issued a book revealing secret details of a 1949 US-German treaty, alleging America and its allies have been deliberately suppressing the nation’s sovereignty.
Lelorrain, this sounds like discovering sliced bread. We know a great deal of the way Soviet Union functioned inside and outside. But history's mystery never ends.
Of course the WWII victors cut off Germany's freedom - both Western and Soviet victors. USA did the same to Japan. I did not know, however, that we extended the German occupation to last for over a century. Isn't that a little extreme? This book may be further evidence that Germany is to the point where it does not need an outside country to tell them what democracy is all about or even (heavens) to manage their defense for them. Should there be another discussion about whether USA presence in Germany is still needed or wanted?
It would be interesting to have been a fly on the wall when 'saint' Adenauer refused to make public the Russian offer of reunification in return for neutrality...the same deal which Austria was offered, accepted and the deal was fully delivered upon. Is it time to review Adenauer ? Was / is Germany Adenauer or is it something more than merely Adenauer ?
Ibarruri from Lagos, It is hardly a surprise to anyone whose outlook has not been shaped over the years by persistent anti- Communist propaganda dished out over the years by the British and the Americans. It is noteworthy to recall from the early years at the end of WW2 how they assiduously worked to make the Nazi criminals become " necessary people" from the Book - "In the Enemy Camp" , written by Heinze Felfe of Humbolt University. Just like many other Germans of his generation, he succumbed to Nazi ideology in the younger years and found himself "floating with the crowd"first in the SS and later on in the RSHA (Imperial security chief administration) After the war he worked for ten years in the West German intelligence Service. The book tells how immediately after the war, the US and British secret services tried to use the former personnel from the Nazi intelligence services and Wehrmacht troops against their Soviet ally. In one account, Allan Dules ,later CIA director , was quoted as asserting that the next world war would probably be between the USA and the USSR, and he persisted in gleaning data on persons who had to be instrumental in the future transformation of Germany. He pursued secret military and political goals aimed at removing Germany as a competitor, subject it politically, and on the other hand, use it for the struggle against the USSR. Thus, proteges of this occupying US authorities were helped into key positions in the newly set up West German state administrative machinery . Many former RSHA staffers contacted the Anglo-US intelligence services right after the war and worked as paid agents, many subsequently rosing to very high positions in the BRD . These were in complete violation of the Armistice agreement, the cynical antecedents of the Berlin Wall. Can anyone honestly blame Putin for his Berlin Wall statements?
Ibarruri a well articulated comment. I find this story stunning in the sense of shocking. Comments about the book's central claims posted in this site and on RT You Tube version suggest that discussions and debates on the claims made in this books are just beginning. What I find peculiar is that there is next to nothing reviews about this sensational book!
I have seen your report and I went to Germany's largest bookstore DUSSMANN. They told me that this book is banned, and that there is no possibility to buy it. So I am waiting for the Russian edition.

Interesting isn't it ? that a democratic State the USA could cut off the freedom of a country. And at the same time criticize the communist regime for their lack of freedom the Soviet Union. So my question is, did the Soviet in 1949 had restricted the German sovereignty?
