Half century Cuba blockade tuning down

On Wednesday, the US Congress has approved a spending bill, which will reduce restrictions against Cuba that were imposed by the former Bush administration.

Cuba has had virtually no contact with US for almost 50 years. This contrasts with Russia, which despite being on the other side of the world, has given the Cuban government $354 million in loans.
The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly adopted a resolution demanding the U.S. lift an economic trade and financial embargo against Cuba. It was supported by a majority of countries with only three against, among them the United States.
