America’s dropping of two nuclear bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 64 years ago contributed to Japan's non-nuclear weapons policy. But calls are growing in Japan to rethink the anti-nuclear stance.
How is it that Human Beings desire to profit from the mass annihilation of innocent Human Beings as occurred in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? What hatred of the Working Class those that organized that must have had for them in these cities. What kind of "low-life" keeps pressuring for these weapons to be manufactured? The "non-proliferation of nuclear weapons treaty" was instigated amongst many others by Japan. What kind of "low-lives" in Japan wants these horrors to occur again? Would their success make Japan a "justifiable" target by the USA for "possession of weapons of mass destruction"? So the hypocrisy goes on whilst billions of Human Beings have no food no shelter no education no health care. If you "low-lives" have too much Capital and are really looking for a "good" investment - invest in bringing all Human Beings an equally good level of life and livelihood. Dialectical Materialism provides the content and form for that pathway to succeed. So - "What's To Be Done?" - "Where To Begin?". Who owns the means of production and distribution and how the many achieve that over the few is the way forward for Humankind. The path of "individual betterment" at the expense of the majority is not. As for the democratic process in Japan underway currently these should be the main topic of discussion - not whether to reverse the ban on nuclear weapons. ///snowyone.
Yes i do agree that dropping the bombs was not the right thing to do, but what happened to the innocent people of PEARL HARBOR? Yes no nuclear bomb was used but surprise attack killing so many and so many innocent people around the area in which prevoked the nuclear bombing to happen in the first place. To join with the germany nazi's against all others was terrorism as well. Joining the side of the mass killing of innocent people with gassing, slavery, starving people, killing people way over the millions is even worse then what usa did. Not saying what we did was right, but joining hitler and helping him kill innocent people has a big factor on the bombs being delivered to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I wasn't born back then and am sick to even remember people talking about those bombs because I believe in peace not war. I feel we all can coexist on this planet if we quit saying we are right or they are right. We all live here for a reason and we are all different and uniquie and we should just let each other no matter where we live be. Help each other through whatever crisis comes up and love one another. I actually somedays am sad and wishing I was american. I believe my fore fathers that died for my country some times don't get the respect they deserve for all they did. I believe that japan even though alot has changed from back then until now, are the most intelligent and more educated and more technical country today. Yes I believe US should get out of countries and stay home and take care of us and some times let these countries defend themselves. We are so worried about other countries maybe it is about time we take care of OURS. God bless all those that died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all that have felt the pain over the years. Things like that are tragic not only to the people directly involved, but everyone in japan and other countries that felt even an ounce of pain. From me to all of you, I am so sorry that things like that have happened.
anthony - a very nice comment, from which I would like to offer some comments back. Yes there is no doubt that these bombings were wrong, they were against civilians and in no doubt meet the criteria to classify them as war crimes. It is also true that they were a reaction to Pearl Harbor, which was an unprovoked attack on the US. I am also sure, the immense suffering of US service men in fighting with and in torture by the Japanese, also had a huge bearing on the decision to carry out this crime. So in simple terms it was a crime, with mitigating factors. I also agree that anyone who joined the Nazis, were part of that barbaric regime. Indeed the Nurenburg trials decided this definitively. The act of being a Nazi was a crime, from wherever you came. But be careful, the comparison with other crimes doesn't justify your own. This is a prisoners' game, find someone who has committed a worse offense, so you feel better. Instead it is much better to seek peace within yourself, for any crimes committed, this is the strong approach. Don't dislike your own country, don't give up on it, your forefathers did so much, you have it easy, just cast your vote independent of who they coral you into voting for. Is it so hard for you to think, compared with what your forefathers had to do, Is it so hard for you to get others to think as well.
In order to fight terrorism you should not become a terrorist, never. USA has now done terrorism in order to fight it, that means USA will loose simpathy over it's fight. And not only that, for who wants to befriend terrorists unless oneself is a terrorist? The so called "war on terror" is only a dogfight between rival murderous dogs. If you don't want to get bitten, don't interfere?

(1) Soldiers are neither civilians nor bystanders; when you don a uniform, you undertake to put your life on the line. (2) Declassified documents show that US sigint had intercepted a wire from Tokyo to the Japanese ambassador in Washington instructing him to announce a war declaration. Secretary of State therefore kept the Japanese ambassador for over two hours in order to keep him from presenting the declaration of war until after the attack had taken place. (3) The nuclear bombings were only needed to (a) get a battlefield assessment of its effects and (2) to scare Stalin away from any plans he might have add to overrun Western Europe after the fall of Berlin a few months earlier. By early 1945, Japan on its knees and hardly had any aviation fuel for its air force. (4) It was Germany that allied itself with Japan, not the other way around. Moreover, terrorism is the use of fear to secure a political end. In World War II, terrorism was not the principal tool of any side. (5) History is written by the winners, as Pliny used to say. Germany killed six million Jews in Europe, and the USA, four million in Vietnam. Chalk up the dead in Laos and Cambodia and you'll see both know how to play in the big league. And then if you have time, google up Prescott Bush...
If you wrote an arltcie about life we'd all reach enlightenment.

Nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is know as a first and only act of states terrorism. Innocent peaceful people are killed far away from the front lanes ...Indeed it was a great crime against all humanity...We shall not forget and never forgive USA, with a hope that one day in the future justice will be done in the same way! Japan is not free country-and only when USA and theirs bases are gone-will be free...For Japan is better to never have them and your place naturally is with Asia and not with USA!Nuclear free world will never happen - main reason for other countries to have them is USA policy from before and today to enslave free people of the world. Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a turning point in history of humans ...
